waverly hills sanatarium (travel channel)

Waverly hills was opened in 1926 at that time there was a tuberculosis epicdemic. even though treatments were advanced at the hospital, treatments were very basic. The cure was belived to be fresh air, so the patients sat in patio type things while litterly coverd in snow. The most painfull treatment was when the doctor inserted bloon like things in the patients lungs while the pacient was awake. Patients who were dead where rolled down the body chut into a underground train.
